Slimes Boardstore has been operating in the Novocastrian area for a little over 10 years. Through this period, we have seen the eternal grommet and local lord of Merewether Mick Adam team up with the wave of winter winner/big wave specialist Tim Dickson in the takeover of 2020.

Since then, we have seen Tim’s astute business brain go from strength to strength leading the shop to its prominent glory whilst allowing Mick with a vast experience in the surf industry for over forty years (including Mark Richards shop), collaborate a very family friendly atmosphere. They have created a warm and welcome vibe in store and don’t mind a joke or two, just be careful of Micks contagious laugh.

They have been big in supporting our local surfing community. Slimes Newcastle sponsors Merewether and She & The Sea Surfboard Clubs and is always supporting the locally run charity surfing the spectrum. Slimes has also continued the tradition of Wave of the Winter, which was a roaring success and continues to gain traction yearly.

The big emphasise on community can also be transparent with sponsorship of a vast local team of grommets who look to cut their teeth on the way to elite glory. Whilst also employing a group of local ratbags who continue to pass on their surfing knowledge and experience to anyone and everyone who wish for advice or help on their way to surfing’s Shangri-la
